Out 22nd April, Werkha’s “City Shuffle EP” brings the next stage in the producer and multi-instrumentalist’s debut album journey, highlighting the irresistible “City Shuffle feat. Bryony Jarman-Pinto” alongside a clutch of new reworks from Scratcha DVA, Contours and Tom Blip (with a bonus remix, to be revealed later in the campaign, from General Ludd).
The lead track on this EP is one of the most popular cuts from the ‘Colours Of A Red Brick Raft’ LP, which dropped last June, garnering support from long-time Werkha champions like Gilles Peterson while capturing new fans including Lauren Laverne, Nemone, Monki, and others on BBC 6Music, Radio 1 and across the world. Werkha’s intricate mix of deep, jazzy and worldly influences, forward thinking electronic beats and playful charm, has also won positive coverage from the likes of Clash, DJ Mag, THUMP and Sabotage Times. With all this added to a busy live schedule (including gigs alongside Bonobo, Chet Faker, Mr Scruff, Gilles Peterson, Quantic, GoGo Penguin, Romare and Clap! Clap!), the 23-year-old has been steadily staking his claim as one of the most exciting talents in the UK electronic scene.
